Family Fun Time

Build Your Relationship with Family Fun Time

  1. Pick some activities your child loves most that you can be involved with.
  2. Set everything aside for 5-10 minutes at a time 1-3 times per day to be fully present and active with your child.
  3. Change the activities as the child indicates.

Building close rapport with a child prior to starting ABA therapy can dramatically improve success with interventions and teaching. It can also fundamentally change how you interact with your child.

In ABA Therapy, Look For The Good

When starting out, always be looking for positive behaviors to reinforce. Overcome the habit of frequently commenting on or reacting to non-functional or disruptive behaviors.
